Explaining the Shower Picture
This is an accurate sketch of a real shower in “B” yard, Santa Cruz unit. Do you see the loose wires hanging in the lower door jamb? I was told they were “live” because this shower light is still on. I won’t test this theory! I’ve tried to portray all the standing water in front of those wires. All the shower units have standing water because the drains are all plugged.
Standing water = black mold we see everywhere
When inmates complained about the condition of this shower, they just took off the door and left it open. In the shower next to this one (not pictured) is the same filth.
The regulators (hot and cold) will not engage so moving the handle from Hot to Cold does nothing. The temperature the DOC sets is what you get. In the winter the water is cold and in the summer, it’s hot. The water pressure would increase dramatically if they would soak the shower heads in Lime-aWay to remove 50 years of accumulated minerals.

We have received reports from ALL units on PeeVille, that the computer Kiosks are down. Well, duh. Only the DOC in their infinite wisdom could put delicate technology out in the 118 degree heat! The phones are outside too. Make your calls early, because the black receivers are too hot to pick up later. Oh, and they poop out from the heat too.
Then the DOC makes a feeble attempt to show they “care”, by giving us paper’ pencil and envelopes. We have a tablet now…it’s called email. So we stack up stuff no one is going to use. Wonder how much THAT costs.
And on a more hopeful note—-we have the latest guess by the Director’s office, that inmate COVID tests will be about mid-August. The guards have just begun their testing. How about a straw poll from you guys out there—-Do you think the DOC will lie about the results? Email us and tell us what you think. We’ll publish the results!

After that cluster hug at Covid Hickman’s, unbelievable 40 more women knocked each other down, to sign up for the next slaughter. I was motivated to ask why. They universally said “the $4.50/hr”. It is so bad here that gals risk their lives to get four bucks an hour? Yep, that’s the reason. They can’t support their kids on ten cents per hour, so they risk their lives at a chicken ranch.
How is Hickman’s Farm going to protect the workers from COVID this time? Any new measures in place? Is the DOC trying to protect these women?
