We just got this from a source inside.
“An officer whispered to us that Maria is the new Pedro.” We reported earlier that it appeared that the San Pedro unit was where the inmates testing positive for COVID-19 are being quarantined and isolated from the rest of Perryville. Yesterday inmate tractor drivers were waived off of the duty of cleaning porta-pottys on Santa Maria. This unit is now shut off.
Maria is comprised of two yards. A yard is R&A intake (people being brought in from jails.) B yard is for medium custody inmates. It was meant to be the quarantine unit previously, This is where the 800 cots are to be deployed if needed.
