Explaining the Shower Picture
This is an accurate sketch of a real shower in “B” yard, Santa Cruz unit. Do you see the loose wires hanging in the lower door jamb? I was told they were “live” because this shower light is still on. I won’t test this theory! I’ve tried to portray all the standing water in front of those wires. All the shower units have standing water because the drains are all plugged.

When inmates complained about the condition of this shower, they just took off the door and left it open. In the shower next to this one (not pictured) is the same filth.
The regulators (hot and cold) will not engage so moving the handle from Hot to Cold does nothing. The temperature the DOC sets is what you get. In the winter the water is cold and in the summer, it’s hot. The water pressure would increase dramatically if they would soak the shower heads in Lime-aWay to remove 50 years of accumulated minerals.
Director Shinn makes ALL medium custody inmates’ life miserable
Dear readers, it’s not just the girls that were thrown into the burnbag, but the boys too. Shinn was red faced because of the recent escape, so he decided to take it out on all medium inmates, because that was the custody level that escaped. DOC’s usual knee jerk reaction to their own mistakes. We are getting letters and email from families of the men too, and the guys are REALLY unhappy about the cut in rec time. So unless the DOC is putting saltpeter in the prison water supply, the men might do another Kingman.
More cruelty from the DOC
Just when you think the inmates can’t take anymore, the DOC delivers more pain.
Because the Florence prison screwed up and let 2 male inmates escape, the DOC is determined to take it out on the girls too. We are waiting for our sources on Maria and Cruz to come in, but we do have a letter smuggled out from Lumley. This is her story.–Ed.
On Tuesday, Feb. 9th Lumley mediums were locked down at 7:15 am without warning, and without breakfast. Feeding pod by pod, it took till 9 am for all to be fed….usually breakfast is from 5 am to 6 am. When we asked what was going on, the guards said, “We don’t know, they didn’t tell us.”
The cell doors were opened again at 1:00 pm (usually noon) and we were told to line up for lunch…..it took until almost 3 pm to finish feeding. No rec time or shower time until 6 pm, and then there was mass confusion about lockdown.
It actually got worse the next day, Wednesday. They didn’t let us out for breakfast till 9 am!!! None of the workers went to their jobs, medical appointments were missed, and the girls were hungry! Meanwhile, on the yard, the “Keystone Cops” led by Barney Fife were milling around with their thumb up their ass. We could hear the guards wondering what to do, and complaining about the lack of leadership. Finally at 9:35 am we lined up for chow and didn’t come back till 10:30 am.
It got worse. We were told that we’d only get 1 and a 1/2 hours out of our cell ALL DAY! What? Since when are we in Closed Custody??? And we’re to be ESCORTED everywhere? We didn’t get out for lunch until 3:15 pm! wtf.
Channel 3 TV reported that the cause of the men’s escape was that only a fraction of guards were there….they are short-staffed. Why punish the girls???? Our families are calling Central Office, the warden, and the deputy warden about this.*
The men ruin everything for the women….again
Through the years, the men have been responsible for food and hygeine items being eliminated from the store menu. The men make hootch out of something (i.e. corn, potatoes, sugar, oranges, apples, etc ect.) and the women get that taken away from them too. The men use the plastic tube in hair spray to inject themselves, and bam no tubes in anything.
Acrylic paint is just the latest thing to be taken away because two male inmates used it for a little camouflage during their short escape. Why didn’t they blame the tools they used to cut through the fence? Noooo, they take away something that the women use to keep their sanity….hobby crafts and artwork.
